Original Jdell vintage scissor lamp Kaiser Idell 6614, moonlamp

The Kaiser & Co. Leuchten KG company was founded in 1895 by Hermann Kaiser, a silversmith and industrial designer. Christian Dell, who headed the metalwork department at the Weimar Bauhaus for several years, designed a large range of lights (more than 500 models) with the idea to create interchangeable and strandardized parts of lamps. The Idell lamps (combination of ‘Dell’ and ‘Idea’) are viewed to this day as a design classic — a timeless ideal with a simple and clean avant-garde design, noble materials and an essential functionality.

After the thorough dismantling cleaning rust removal

of all elements, the lamp was polished brushed
clear coated and built again.
The lamp is engraved with Original Jdell on the shade.
The mechanical system of the lamp functions fine.

The lamp has signs of wear consistent with its age and use. The scissor and the shade a very nice patina. The shade has two small dents and the scissor inside has rests of paint.

The electrical equipment was renewed and refurbished with a three-wire system and a burgundy cloth coated cord was used.
The light is operated by a rotary switch located on the lamp socket.

The lamp can be easily attached to the wall with the non original wall-mount bracket and screws.
