Description
Pair of Kaiser Idell 6614 super black scissor lamps
The Kaiser & Co. Leuchten KG company was founded in 1895 by Hermann Kaiser, a silversmith and industrial designer. Christian Dell, who headed the metalwork department at the Weimar Bauhaus for several years, designed a large range of lights (more than 500 models) with the idea to create interchangeable and strandardized parts of lamps. The Idell lamps (combination of ‘Dell’ and ‘Idea’) are viewed to this day as a design classic — a timeless ideal with a simple and clean avant-garde design, noble materials and an essential functionality.
After the thorough dismantling cleaning rust removal, the shade was newly painted. The lamp parts have been cleaned and built again.
The lamps are engraved with Original Kaiser Idell on the shade.
The mechanical system of the lamps functions perfectly.
The lamps have light signs of wear consistent with its age and use. The shades show light uneveness and the scissors in original condition small losses of lack.
The electrical equipment was renewed and refurbished with a three-wire system and a black cloth coated cord was used.
The lights are operated by a rotary switch located on the lamp socket.
The lamps can be easily attached to the wall with the original wall-mount bracket and screws.
