Description
Kaiser Idell 6726-a old rare table lamp with clamping base.
The Kaiser & Co. Leuchten KG company was founded in 1895 by Christian Dell, a silversmith and industrial designer, who headed the metalwork department at the Weimar Bauhaus for several years. He designed a large range of lights (more than 500 models) with the idea to create interchangeable and strandardized parts of lamps. The Idell lamps (combination of ‘Dell’ and ‘Idea’) are viewed to this day as a design classic — a timeless ideal with a simple and clean avant-garde design, noble materials and an essential functionality.
This Kaiser Idell 6726 jointed lamp is an original designer classics from the 30s.
Its restored condition is very good. The lamp has a few signs of wear consistent with its age and use.
The lamp is engraved with Original Jdell on the shade.
The mechanical system of the lamp functions perfectly.
The lamp can be smoothly moved horizontally and vertically thanks to two ball joints.
The electrical equipment was renewed and refurbished with a three-wire system and a black cloth coated cord was used.
The light is operated by a rotary switch located on the original bakelite lamp socket.
The lamp can be easily fixed to the table with the clamping base.
