Description
Kaiser Idell 6614 Super big black scissor lamp with original coating and light patina
The Kaiser & Co. Leuchten KG company was founded in 1895 by Christian Dell, a silversmith and industrial designer, who headed the metalwork department at the Weimar Bauhaus for several years. He designed a large range of lights (more than 500 models) with the idea to create interchangeable and strandardized parts of lamps. The Idell lamps (combination of ‘Dell’ and ‘Idea’) are viewed to this day as a design classic — a timeless ideal with a simple and clean avant-garde design, noble materials and an essential functionality.
This Kaiser Idell 6614 scissor lamp is an original designer classics from the 30s.
The lamp has a few signs of wear consistent with its age and use.
The lamp is marked with Original Kaiser Idell on the shade and still has the original Kaiser Leuchten Sticker on the back side of the wall mounting.
The mechanical system of the lamp functions very good.
The shade has been newly coated.
The electrical equipment was renewed and refurbished with a three-wire system and a black cloth coated cord was used.
The light is operated by a rotary switch located on the original bakelite lamp socket.
The lamp can be easily attached to the wall with the wall-mount bracket and screws.
